Varför är det viktigt?
Kommunledningen måste agera för att skydda medborgarna från giftfabriken!!! Metylenklorid förbjöds redan 1996 i Sverige. Den kan orsaka cancer, fosterskador, demens, missfall och neurologiska skador. 900 ton / år beräknas släppas ut i Eskilstuna.
Kemikalieinspektionen har gett företaget rätt att använda 2770 ton metylenklorid under två år. Det är mycket stora mängder. 1996 användes, enligt DA, totalt 427 ton av kemikalien i Sverige. 2022 hade företagens användning sammanlagt sjunkit till 10 ton.

Men Senior Materials har alltså inte bara fått rätt att använda 2770 ton av kemikalien. De får även rätt att släppa ut 900 ton per år eller 2,5 ton per dygn i luften.
Nu måste kommunledningen gå in och säkra framtiden för medborgarna i Eskilstuna kommun!

Industrial use of methylene chloride was banned in Sweden already in 1996 since it may cause cancer, birth defects, miscarriages and neurological damage. Senior Materials plan to emit 900 tons per year of this chemical in Eskilstuna alone.
The Swedish Chemicals Agency has given Senior Materials in Eskilstuna permission to use 2770 tons of methylene chloride over a two year period. This is a considerable amount considering the fact that in 1996 427 tons were used in the entire country. By 2022 industrial use of the chemical had dropped to 10 tons per year. But Senior Materials have not just been permitted to use 2770 tons of this dangerous chemical. They have also been allowed to emit 900 tons per year, or 2,5 tons per day, straight into the air we all breathe.
